About

An old practice, read carefully

Iridology has been practised for more than a century and a half: the idea that the structure and colouring of the iris say something about the constitution of the person behind it. It is read from a chart, by eye, by someone who has spent years learning what the chart means.

The hard part has never been the interpretation. It is seeing clearly enough to interpret — finding the boundary of the iris and the pupil, measuring them honestly, locating a lacuna precisely enough to say which zone it falls in. That is what Eyeagnosis does. It detects, measures and maps, then says in plain language what iridology traditionally associates with what it found.

What it does not do is pretend to be a diagnosis. Every number it reports is something it measured; every interpretation is labelled as one. Where it is unsure, it says so and asks for a better photograph rather than inventing an answer.

Natural health practitioners

Eyeagnosis grew out of NZ Health Clinic, a natural health practice where iris readings have been done across a table for years. The app is that same reading, made available to people who cannot get to the clinic in person.
